As an ex girl groups only fan,  I feel that there’s more negativity among their fans than boy groups’.  They easily put down other girl groups and boy groups in order to praise their favs,  and there’s more fights over who’s the better group.  Not to mention claiming that a person is misogynistic if they don’t agree with what they’re saying.  I know not everyone is like that,  but it’s a behavior I’ve seen way too much and it’s really, really annoying.

It’s funny when certain fandoms try to defend the toxicity of their fandom by saying stuff like “some bad apples don’t represent the entire fandom” because the full original phrase is “one bad apple spoils the whole bin/barrel/bunch.” Like if you’re gonna be all “not all ____!”, at least use a phrase that doesn’t originally mean “yes one bad apple DOES spoil the whole bunch.“

No group has to change their concept just because you personally don’t like it. If Twice, Blackpink, Momoland, GFRIEND, Oh My Girl, Lovelyz  or Weki Meki come out with the same song thirty times remixed then that’s fine as long as they enjoy it and their fandom enjoys it. You are by no means the one paying their bills so let them do whatever they want. Yes, it’s great to diversify your concept occasionally but no one needs to do it.

When I first got into Kpop I was really surprised to see how many fan discussions completely revolve around the looks of group members. I’m always shocked to see people saying “X member looks so good!” as their main reasoning behind certain comebacks being “legendary”, without even mentioning anything about the music. I wish there was more focus on actual songs.

No matter how someone feels about idols dating, leaving them be its the right thing to do and I agree with condemning/calling out fans that act immature and leave hate comments, but if there is one thing I don’t like is how other fans (esp i-fans) thinks it’s okay to make what are probably young girls feel stupid for being hurt when their attachment for their idols was being exploited in the 1st place. Clowning those that leave a fandom when idols themselves participated themselves in it for $.

I don’t even care if female idols look bored or dead when performing. I’d look too, if I lacked sleep, never got enough to eat, lacked muscle strength required for dancing caused by dieting and actual goddamn weight restrictions, uncomfortable clothing, and people in the audience trying to upskirt me. Not to even mention never getting to participate on the music I’d perform and having the musical aspects of my career overlooked, living in society that heavily prefers men. All on top of the knowledge that no matter how I’d perform, netizens would hate on me anyway.
