I hate it when a successful group puts out a mini album. I understand debuting with an EP to test the waters or groups that haven’t hit it big and are struggling financially. But BTS having a mini when they have money and demand to produce a full one? Stray Kids with 4 EPs in less than a year? Blackpink still not having a full album? I know it’s all about money, but no business should be able to sell subpar products or services. I know a lot of kpop fans don’t think of kpop as a product, but it is, and as such customers should always expect to get the best quality possible. Less mini albums could also lessen the flood of comebacks and the overworking of idols.

Sometimes I feel like International fans care too much about award shows like when Signal won SOTY. Who are International fans to say what song left an impact on Korea? Or how about when izone won roty? Despite what the international opinion may be. Another current example is itzy and everglow. I just don’t like the mentality that International fans think that they are the end all be all of awards when their vote has small effect and it’s a show about Korean artists in Korean opinion.

Many people are talking about how some idols‘ vocal techniques could damage their vocal chords, but I’ve never seen people talk about how their stretching routines and backwards head rolls are so unbelievably unhealthy! Backwards headrolls are so dangerous, they can literally break off pieces of your spine! And going into low stretches right away without warming up your muscles or doing light stretches before can cause your muscles and ligaments to tear (even when you are flexible)! I know that their stretching routines in vlives are not really the real deal and they probably (hopefully) do more before they start practicing, but I can’t help but wince whenever I see it. I hope their instructors are keeping an eye on that.

There is a specific brand of girl group songs that are super eclectic and disjointed that I absolutely love. Songs like I Got a Boy, Wee Woo, I Don’t Like Your Girlfriend, Zimzalabim. I know tons of people hate them but I’m having a great time, plus the fashion is usually just as eclectic and I love that too. I’ll take interesting and new styling over safe “pretty” styling any day

I’m genuinely at the point where I hate Dispatch. Like, I get it, they’re all about posting celebrity news. However, the fact that they like to play God and choose which stories to post and when knowing it will harm either the idol or their career isn’t okay — especially since it was confirmed a few months back that they were holding a few stories about LGBT idols who weren’t out. It’s because of Dispatch that my stance on celebrities’ personal lives/relationships is: it’s NOT my business.

Most of the times I find English covers of kpop songs to be cringy and sort of unbearable to listen to. They come off as very awkward to my ears and maybe it’s also because of the lyrics and how i’m not used to hearing anything but the Korean lyrics. I really appreciate the effort of those that do English covers of the songs, I’m just not someone who particularly enjoys them. It makes more sense that I’d rather listen to a cover of the song in Korean because it feels less rigid but authentic.
